'Time Off' Requests Surge Ahead Of Grand Theft Auto VI Release Grand Theft Auto VI's upcoming release is just over two weeks away, and for millions of gamers, November 19 is set to become an unofficial holiday. Personal finance publication Money cites new data from HR software company BambooHR showing that time-off requests are 9% to 17% higher than for a typical third Thursday in November .
The increase in time-off requests coincides with the release of GTA VI. BambooHR did not identify the age group requesting the most time off, but millennials were teenagers when GTA V was released in 2013, more than 13 years ago. For many gamers, it's been a very long wait.
