Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has stated that President Donald Trump's interventions are helping to prevent the Russia-Ukraine war from escalating into a global conflict. Lukashenko made this statement during the 4th Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, where he also suggested that Trump should receive the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to prevent a nuclear conflict in Europe.

The Belarusian president has close ties with Moscow, but has urged a peaceful resolution to the war and has offered to host negotiations to help bring an end to the conflict. The US envoy, Steve Witkoff, has stated that the talks will aim to build on progress made towards a comprehensive and durable peace agreement, and that US negotiators will meet with representatives from European countries to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine and economic opportunities for post-war reconstruction.
