Robin Patrick Martin, 67, of Oklahoma City, has been charged with conveying false or misleading information and hoaxes and mailing threatening communications in connection with threatening letters mailed to state election officials, members of Congress, the FBI and others.
Lawmakers and other groups of people reported receiving envelopes with unidentified white powder.
“As alleged, Martin mailed letters containing white powder to hundreds of state and federal officials, a calculated attempt to terrorize public servants,” said Assistant Attorney General for National Security John A. Eisenberg. “These officials were left to open those letters not knowing if the powder inside could sicken or even kill them, and that was the evident intent. Intimidation like this has no place in a Nation governed by the rule of law, and the National Security Division will investigate and prosecute these cases to the fullest extent appropriate.”
According to public records, on October 13, 2026, the Oklahoma State Election Board notified the FBI that it had received a threatening letter containing white powder. The FBI and USPIS had been investigating threatening letters containing white powder sent to multiple state election officials — including the Oklahoma State Election Board — since 2024.
