Veterans group leader disputes White House claims about support for Trump arch project The head of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Tom Burke, stated that the organization was given inaccurate information before signing a legal brief in support of President Donald Trump's proposed arch project.

Burke claimed that the brief went further than he had anticipated or intended. He clarified in an email that the organization had not taken a position on the arch's construction or design. The White House allegedly encouraged veterans organizations to sign the brief, but Burke did not specify who provided the inaccurate information.

Some members of the organization, including the president of the Northern Virginia chapter, opposed the project and claimed they were not consulted by chapter or state leaders.
