NASA has introduced the X-70 Fractal, an experimental aircraft designed to advance flight research. This crewed platform features advanced flight-control technology and can carry significant experimental payloads. According to NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, the X-70 will enable the agency to test cutting-edge technologies in real flight.

The aircraft's modular design allows for rapid reconfiguration, which will facilitate a wide range of research and flight-testing opportunities. Its capabilities include cruising at high speeds, reaching considerable altitudes, and covering extensive operational ranges.

Laurie Grindle, director of the Aeronautics Division, noted that the X-70 joins a legacy of experimental aircraft that have driven innovation in aviation. The X-70 is expected to expand NASA's capacity for experimental flight research and accelerate the testing of emerging technologies.

NASA anticipates the X-70's first flight within the next two years, marking a new beginning for aeronautics research. The agency's aeronautics research aims to push the boundaries of flight and establish America's leadership in aviation.
