NASA astronaut Anil Menon and STEM creator Mark Rober will connect with students across the country on National STEM Day through a live, interactive in-flight call from the International Space Station. Menon, who is currently on the space station, will answer questions from students about living and working in microgravity, while Rober will share his experiences and insights on how curiosity and hands-on problem-solving shaped his career.
The event, hosted by NASA's Office of STEM Engagement, aims to bring real-world science, engineering, and exploration into classrooms nationwide, and will be available to watch on NASA's YouTube channel. During the call, Menon will demonstrate how everyday activities change in microgravity, giving students a unique glimpse into life on the space station.
The partnership will align NASA's educational resources with CrunchLabs' hands-on engineering content, inspiring more learners to engage with science, engineering, and problem-solving. The goal of the event is to inspire the next generation of scientists, technicians, engineers, and innovators, and to introduce them to aerospace careers.
