Thousands of small and medium-sized business owners across the UK can now take advantage of a new Government-backed 75% discount for its Cyber Essentials certification programme.
Recent estimates suggest a significant cyber-attack on a UK business or organisation could cost on average £195,000 1 . The cost of these attacks means money coming out of UK businesses and the people they employ, preventing them from re-investing and growing their business and our economy.
In a speech at the National Cyber Security Centre’s Annual Review today, Cyber Security Minister, Baroness Lloyd will announce how Government is fully backing UK businesses to protect themselves in the cyber race.
The Cyber Essentials certification will be discounted by 75% for micro, small and medium sized businesses – meaning they could pay as little as £80 and no more than £125 (plus VAT) to get peace of mind that their organisation is protected against the most common online threats.
Government is also working with over 230 businesses across industry, who have signed up to the Cyber Resilience Pledge , to help them safeguard their supply chains and ensure they have the essential protections in place.
