President Donald Trump stated that the United States is not in a hurry to sign a deal with Iran, as he considers launching new strikes against the country after the midterm elections. Trump made these comments at a Halloween event in Florida, where he also claimed that the US has already knocked out much of Iran's military equipment and manufacturing capability.

He said that only one or two sites remain to be taken care of, which he claimed could be done quickly. Trump's comments came on the same day that Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei vowed to respond to any American or Israeli threats of new attacks.

The Iranian leader promised an "immediate, impactful, and geographically unrestricted response" to any hostile action, and a top Iranian military official stated that the armed forces are monitoring enemy movements and preparing to respond. Trump's stance on Iran has been controversial, with many fearing that it could disrupt shipping and contribute to high inflation, potentially harming the GOP's chances in the upcoming elections.
