Teamsters General President Sean O'Brien has announced his support for Senator Ashley Moody in her Florida Senate race. O'Brien stated that Moody has been helpful in protecting workers' pensions and defending good-paying jobs, which led to his decision to cast his ballot for her.
Moody, who is expected to win her bid for reelection, expressed her pride in having O'Brien's support and vowed to continue fighting for hardworking Americans and strengthening good-paying jobs. The incumbent Republican has campaigned on her anti-crime policies and has the backing of President Donald Trump.
O'Brien also expressed his desire to work with Moody on the Senate HELP Committee to pass the Faster Labor Contracts Act, which aims to protect American workers. Former President Barack Obama has endorsed Moody's opponent, Democratic state Rep. Angie Nixon, who is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.
