'The Chosen' cast opens up about 'brutal' Season 6, portraying Jesus' final hours: 'A painful watch'

The cast of the biblical drama "The Chosen" has reflected on the emotional and spiritual weight of the upcoming Season 6, which portrays Jesus' final hours and crucifixion. The season is expected to be a difficult watch, as it depicts the disciples' devastating grief and struggle to understand the purpose of Jesus' ministry.

The actors, who play the disciples closest to Jesus, have found it challenging to portray the characters' devastation and lack of understanding of the events that unfold. The season follows the final 24 hours of Jesus' life, as recounted in the gospels, and culminates in His crucifixion.

In interviews with The Christian Post, cast members discussed the weight of the upcoming season and how their characters have been transformed by following Jesus. Paras Patel, who plays the disciple Matthew, described the season as "devastating" and "emotionally charged," but also noted that certain characters will rise to lead the way in the midst of turmoil and pain.

The season is set to premiere on November 15 on Prime Video.
